Lack of Ethics, Disrespect for Citizens Should Be Cause for Complete Termination
Legal Definition of Moral Turpitude:

Why did the City choose not to renew City Attorney Jon Paladini’s employment contract in June? And why will his departure on July 31 result in an even more lucrative contract for Mr. Paladini?
Optics and liability.
Leadership at the top grew nervous that a recent 911 tape and a domestic violence police report could reflect badly on the mayor. They had no concern for us, the citizens, only for deals and pocketbooks. Our city attorney is a liability to us, but because he knows too much, and writes agreements that typically favor the developers and the council majority, the council majority just doesn’t think they can cut him loose completely.
Sever the ties. WE. DODGED. A. BULLET.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Mr. Paladini. That’s what the city should be saying, in effect. Instead, we, the taxpayers will never be rid of Paladini and his slick deals—if the current majority council remains in place. Paladini’s new Phoenix law firm should watch the AED proceedings just in case they don’t know what they are getting. Even though he resigned, taxpayers will still get to keep paying for Paladini.
Tell the Prescott City Council to cut the cord. Paladini doesn’t represent the best interests of the city and its collective citizens. He represents the developers and certain members of the council.
He has always represented the other side of the table.
The embattled city attorney gets to have his cake and eat it too. He is verbally abusive and disrespectful to certain councilors, women, and citizens, but he never met a developer he didn’t like…
The Council may vote as soon as July 27, 2021 to approve a lucrative contract for Jon Paladini to work with the law firm, Pierce and Coleman in Phoenix and continue to advise the City.
